This video shows one Solo site serving different colour schemes on different pages — by content type, by user role, by path — instead of a single palette everywhere.
What makes it dynamic
Solo on its own applies one chosen scheme site-wide. Add the Solo Utilities module and a scheme becomes a configuration entity called a Color Schemes Rule. On every request the theme asks Solo Utilities first: if a rule matches, that rule's stylesheet is attached and the site-wide choice is skipped entirely. No rule matches, and the global selection is used as before.
Two conditions that must both be true
The module has to be installed, and Solo must be in the active theme hierarchy — either the default theme itself or an ancestor of whatever theme is default. Installing Solo while another theme serves the front end is not enough, and Solo's settings page says so rather than failing quietly. Solo Utilities declares core_version_requirement: ^10 || ^11 || ^12, php: ^8.1 and one dependency, core's node module. Details are on the Solo Utilities page.
Creating a rule
- Go to Configuration → System → Solo Utilities → Color Schemes and add a rule.
- Give it a label and machine name, and leave Enabled ticked.
- Choose a category, then the scheme itself — the scheme list stays hidden until a category other than None is picked.
- Set the conjunction: AND: all conditions should pass, or OR: at least one of the conditions should pass.
- Fill in the conditions. They are Drupal's own condition plugins in vertical tabs, so content type, role, path and language all work the way they do on a block. The theme condition is the one exception: Solo Utilities narrows its list to Solo and its sub-themes.
Where to go next
Rules are ordinary config entities, so they export and deploy with the rest of your configuration. For the design thinking behind the palettes, read dynamic colour schemes in the Solo theme, and get the theme itself from the Solo theme page.
