Four checkboxes rearrange Solo's header. This video shows what each one actually moves, so you can stop guessing which combination gives you the layout you pictured.

The four positioning options

They all live on the Header Layout & Positioning tab of the Header settings, and their labels are long because they are precise:

  1. Centre within the header. The logo stays on the left, while the site name and slogan are centred beside it.
  2. Centre and stack. The logo moves to the top, with the site name and slogan beneath it, the whole group centred.
  3. Centre and stack on small screens only. The same arrangement, applied below your chosen site breakpoint, so desktop keeps its own layout.
  4. Swap the icon side. In a left-to-right language this moves the search icon, user menu, sidebar menu and sidebar hamburger to the left and the branding to the right.

The fourth one also moves the sidebar menu

That last checkbox is the one worth a slow look, because it changes more than icon placement: with it on, the main sidebar menu opens from the left in a left-to-right language. Right-to-left languages get the whole arrangement mirrored, icons on the right and the sidebar opening from the right. This is one setting handling both reading directions rather than two settings to keep in sync.

While you are on this form

  • Branding & Typography sets the site name link title and logo alt text in one field — a small accessibility win that is easy to forget.
  • Site name font size is chosen separately for small and large screens, from Large 18px up to Jumbo 64px, and follows the site breakpoints.
  • There is a dedicated site name font list and a choice of twenty-four CSS text animations.
  • Accessibility offers Enable skip to header link.

Everything here is a theme setting, so none of it requires touching a template. That is the point of the design, and this article makes the same case at length. Solo runs on Drupal ^10.1 || ^11 || ^12 — theme details.
