This walkthrough places an existing block from your theme's block layout into the flow of a page, as a paragraph.
Block and Block Content are two different bundles
This is the distinction that trips people up, and the suite ships both. The Drupal Block bundle references the block entity type — the configuration entity that represents a block already placed in a region. The separate Block Content bundle, in its own sub-module, references block_content: the reusable custom block you create in the content area of the admin interface.
Which one you want
- Pick Drupal Block when the thing you want already exists as a placement — a menu block, a views block, a module-provided block — and you want it rendered inside the content instead of in a sidebar.
- Pick Block Content when you want one of your own reusable blocks, and note that field is unlimited, so it can pull several at once.
If the difference is still fuzzy, Drupal blocks versus block content is written about exactly this.
What the Drupal Block bundle contains
Two content fields only: a Content Title and a single-value block reference. Everything else is appearance, from the same Display tab the rest of the suite uses, so the embedded block picks up the paragraph's background, width, padding, border and shadow rather than the region's styling.
The W3CSS Paragraphs module page lists both bundles among the rest.
Core versions
Drupal 10, 11 and 12 are supported here. The successor project, Paragraphs Bundles, starts at 11.3.
