By the end of this video your footer shows the social icons you want, at the size you want, with the networks you do not use removed entirely rather than left pointing at someone else's account.
What the settings section contains
Open Social Media Links - W3CSS Theme in theme settings and you get three kinds of control: a Show Social Icons checkbox, a Select The Social Media Icon Size radio set offering Small (the default), Medium and Large, and nine address fields — Facebook Page, X Profile, Pinterest Profile, Linkedin Profile, Instagram Profile, Youtube Profile, Drupal Profile, RSS Link and Mastodon Profile. Eight are social profiles; the ninth is your feed.
Start by clearing what you did not ask for
The theme ships with those fields pre-filled with the maintainer's own accounts, so a freshly installed site links to someone else until you change them. That is the first job, not an optional one.
- Replace each address you want to keep with your own.
- Delete the contents of any field for a network you do not use — each icon is printed only when its own field has a value, so an empty field means no icon, no gap.
- To remove the whole row at once, untick Show Social Icons.
- Choose an icon size and save.
Where they end up
The icons render in the footer menu bar, the strip directly above the copyright line, which shares its space with the Footer Menu Container region. Medium and Large simply attach an extra stylesheet that scales them.
If the icons are missing but the links work
This catches everyone. The social icons are Font Awesome glyphs, and Font Awesome is not loaded by default in version 2 — all of the theme's other icons were converted to inline SVG. Open Font awesome - W3CSS Theme and choose one of the four options: 4.7 locally, or 4.7, 5.15.4 or 6.1.1 from a CDN. Loading it locally avoids a third-party request, which is the better default for privacy and for offline development.
Settings reference on the W3CSS Theme project page; Solo carries the same footer for Drupal 10.1 and newer.
